I was exploring color, texture and layering techniques. There was no visual objective, just the play of my thoughts and actions unfolding on the bare canvas. The painting developed and grew, flushing with bright hues and layered color. I felt as though the space within the picture plane was familiar to me, as though it were pieces of a memory. I saw visions of afternoons spent meandering the grounds of the beautiful @morrisarboretum, admiring the lush rose garden, reflecting pool and quiet paths through nature. A very happy and tranquil place for me.
