"When I paint, I lose my Self, the busyness and noise of the outside world fades. I go back to a place that only exists in the most hidden and sacred spot of our being- where there is a oneness with all and a wholeness that is strangely absent of everything. I did not know what these paintings would become at the onset, I still don't when I start anew and that's the beauty of it. It's a journey of interactions that ultimately results in a symphony of history on canvas. Each one is an exercise of my intuition and an exposé of my inner workings. Much of the product seem to have a connection to nature, which is fitting, that is where I have always found peace and a deep connection to God." -Maxine Shea
